My current setup consists of 1 (XP) computer connected by cable to the WNDR3700 and 1 (Vista) laptop with a wireless connection to the WNDR3700. Now, the router has a USB stick attached and the cable connected XP computer can access it just fine via readyshare (or alternatively by mapping the drive to Windows using the Netgear utility). The Vista laptop could also access readyshare just fine for a few weeks until a couple of days ago when it suddenly couldn't see it anymore.

Instead all I got was a 0x80070043 error - 'network name cannot be found'. However, the USB stick is still perfectly accessible via FTP so it appears the issue does not lie with the router per se, but rather Vista's failure to connect to readyshare Anyone else know of this issue or have some idea as to what might be going on? It's not a Vista problem. It is a wireless communication problem.

I have the same issue on Win7 starter, Ubuntu 12.04, Windows 7 Pro and Linux Mint 11 and 12. I have noticed that you lose this connection if you are streaming music to one device (wired or wireless) and try to establish a connection to the ready share as well as sometimes it will not reconnect or allow connections to reestablish to the device. That's with the V3 model of the device anyway. Yes I have the latest firmware, and no it has nothing to do with auto network discovery because Linux doens't have that.
